Save Colby School

Due to lack of funding, The Colby School is threatened with closure. Since this is an essential institution for the community, they are ready to gather and contribute to its rehabilitation.

One way of dealing with this problem would be to persuade the government to step in. By doing so, the problem of paying the debts and taxes would be solved. The school would still have to find opportunities for receiving money for future plans. This could come from different sources like funding EU projects. This way, students would continue to get the education they are entitled to.

Another suggestion is to hold fund-raising activities like balls or fairs. Those could bring a sufficient amount of money for the expenses that the school needs to cover. A disco night or selling cookies and brownies might turn out to be a great business. Considering this is to the advantage of both students and teachers, the support will be granted. As a result, the money raised could be used in order to help the school.

Furthermore, each student could be charged a small fee. Although it is not too big an effort for each student to contribute, taken as a whole, the result would be considerable and would lead to a great improvement. By doing this, the school can be more self-sufficient and support a part of its expenditure.

In conclusion, if the measures mentioned above were taken, the situation could be remedied and the school would be saved. In addition to this, by building a stronger community for saving it, the school might even progress and be transformed into a leading one.

  1. The problem that is shown in this essay is the threat of closure of Colby School. The main cause is the lack of funding. There are presented three suggestions. The first one is to persuade the government to step in. As a result, students would continue to get the education they are entitled to. Another suggestion is to hold fund-raising activities, being a very important way to raise money. And the last thing suggested is to charge a small fee for each student. As a consequence, the school will be made more self-sufficient. Though the main result of the suggestions mentioned above is the remediation of the problem.
