Fighting for One’s Education
Education
is one of the most important issues nowadays, but despite its utmost significance,
less people actually do pay attention to today’s learning system and needs. Therefore,
as a student representative, I want to raise an alarm over the fact that our
college is threatened to closure as a consequence of city hall’s decision.
First
of all, measures should be taken in order to overcome the lack of funding in
our college, which represents a major issue. However, one possible way to
eradicate this problem would be organizing some fund-raising activities such as
various scientific/humanities clubs with entry tax or local contests, and
workshops. It would be of great benefit charging students with a small fee that
will probably cover some of the debts or improve the quality of equipment in
laboratories or classrooms.
Secondly,
the number of students attending the classes is of great importance in improving
the situation or not. There is a major problem in the area due to the fact that
most of the students drop out of school or refuse having an education. As a
consequence, teachers have less opportunities and chances of getting employed
and also the sums allocated to the college are in continuous descend.
Therefore, people should focus their attention on creating appealing learning
conditions or developing different programs that will attract students and
increase their interest in schooling. Our
college has always remarked itself with bright students, therefore it will be
of major use if children/teenagers will get proper education. Closing down the
school will result in limiting one’s right to shaping his/her future life,
career, in gaining general knowledge and fulfilling one’s dreams.
To
wrap up, the effect of this dramatic and mostly unjustified decision will be
negative; consequently, the situation could be considerably improved if the
suggestions mentioned above will be taken into account and some of the measures
put into action; the result will be therefore satisfying considering that there
will always be a constant need for education and educated people.
