Pie Making

I will describe the ultimate war that we had making these pies. Maybe it was just us that fought this war, but I think others had their battles to win. In the first place, we had to get the ingredients. That was hours of rushing through the store with a little piece of paper, which was more precious than our beloved Earth, throwing in our shopping-cart whatever was written on that list. The next step was the transportation. We had to carry all these ingredients to our colleague's home, because that would be our main battleground. Going through a short period of unimportant events, I will skip to the preparation. We made the dough, we made the apple filling, we put them both together in a pot and then they went into the oven. During this apparently fast and easy process, many things happened : flour fight, rubbish, flour in our eyes, more rubbish. And our pie was done! Through blood and pain and sweat and tears, no matter the enormous sacrifice that we made, with the power that has been granted by the fact that we were all alone, we have done it. The pie was ready. Now we just remembered that we could make some custard. We sent Vlad to the shop to buy some cream, vanilla essence and I think this was it. I tried then to make cream (are there no separate words for cream and cream?) but it turned out I shouldn't have made cream with store cream because you can only do it with natural cream. With the help of Diana, we finally made the custard but it was more like a sweet soup with a weird look. But it tasted good. This was about it...so we won the battle with the pie, but the battle with the custard ended as a draw. No matter of this, because we enjoyed our pie.

  1. Actually, the 'soup' turned into a real custard after 2 or 3 hours. And it tasted pretty good :)). So we can be proud of us!

  4. From what I remember, your custard didn't taste at all, not to say anything about the weird texture i had. Anyway, the experience was fun and as most of the people said, our pie was the best! :D

  5. I think that the project was a great idea because we had a lot of fun and we learned how to make apple pies too. :-) Our team had a great adventure trying to make the pie; I especially liked the ingrediends hunt.
Another thing that I liked was tasting the pies that our classmates made and I think all of them were delicious, despite what everyone said about some of the pies. I wouldn’t say your custard tasted bad, so don’t mind what the others are saying! :-)

  6. It's been a pleasure to work with my colleagues in the making of a, and let's admit it, amazing apple pie. ;) They were all great though.

  7. We had greeaaat fun that Saturday, my girls know:)) Actually, you all know what challenges we had to deal with (especially in Kaufland)... The most amazing thing about this project was that boys had to manage with washing the dishes. All time! Their wifes will thank us one day, you`ll see, guys:)) You should have seen Gabi washing anything we got dirty (every 3 or 4 minutes) wearing a cute unbelivably colourful apron, he was so into doing it:)) Razvan, sorry about cutting yours and Cosmina`s love photos!
